Student VIP, in partnership with ASU, will administer ASU`s international health, dental and medical plans from September 1 when you arrive for the fall semester or January 1 when you arrive for the winter semester. It was founded in 1997 with the generous support of Gene D. Wong (`49), Acadia`s first Chinese graduate, was created to provide support and information to Acadia`s many international students. Whether you need advice on your income taxes or simply need help adjusting to a new country, our staff is here to help. When planning their high school programs, students should keep in mind that a number of courses taken during the first year of university have prerequisites for secondary education. In general, students who pursue academic work in the subjects available in secondary education are advised to have a secondary school in these subjects within the final year.

Secondary academic (university preparatory) courses are used for the entrance exam. The University reserves the right to exclude inappropriate courses from the circle of courses presented. Acadia offers students who do not meet English language skills the opportunity to participate in our bachelor`s programs. Completing the Full-Time English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program allows students to acquire English language skills before starting their studies. Applicants may receive admission based on successful completion of the English for Academic Purposes program in Acadia. Admission to graduate programs is competitive and possession of minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Some departments and schools have additional requirements. Prepare for university studies in Canada by improving your English skills. If Acadia attended a previous university, we do not need to send an official transcript – we get that transcript from our system. The Acadia Campus is located in the heart of Wolfville, a charming town in the picturesque Annapolis Valley. You`ll experience life in a safe little town while staying just an hour`s drive from the city of Halifax and its international airport. Please note that the free shuttle service from the airport is for students only. Guardians/parents must arrange their own transportation. Music – A live or recorded audition is required for all prospective students interested in bachelor of music and bachelor of music therapy degrees. Considered one of the top undergraduate universities in Canada, Acadia University welcomes more than 600 international students from more than 60 different countries each year. With the support of a full-time international student advisor, orientation program, host family accommodation program, job shadowing program, English as a Second Language tutoring, and international student clubs, students will soon feel comfortable in their new environment. The Wong International Centre provides international and Canadian students with a place to meet, promote communication and plan cultural activities.

All programs require an upper high school diploma for admission, although exceptions may be made for highly skilled students entering after their penultimate year of high school (except from Quebec). All programs require four years of study, with the exception of the Certificate in Applied Science (2) and the Bachelor of Applied Science (3). The certificate program at the School of Engineering is a prerequisite for the Bachelor of Engineering program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, or the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick. To study on the Acadia campus, you must have a valid study permit or letter of introduction and be able to travel to Nova Scotia by January 3, 2021. International students must arrive between January 1 and 3, 2020. All applicants are encouraged to seek external funding opportunities.
